People
The people behind DIGINEG® have long been concerned that the digital world is making promises it simply can’t keep. We have assembled a team with the technical expertise and consumer understanding to take film-based archiving beyond the world of Hollywood and make it available to everyone. We’re also preserving our own family memories on film and believe that many people will want to do the same.
Meet the DIGINEG® Team
steve hagel, president
Ten years ago, in the heat of the digital revolution in filmed entertainment, a counter-revolutionary was born. Since 1993, Steve Hagel had been Sales and Marketing Manager with Chromacolour International, a major supplier of equipment and materials to the animation industry. As digital media increasingly claimed archival functions, Steve saw an urgent need to protect studio assets exposed to the risks of long-term digital storage. He founded acmeworks digital film, inc. in 1999, with Cartoon Network as the company’s first major client. In 2008, acmeworks founded DIGINEG Ltd. to archive digital imagery, data and documents on behalf of business and consumers. Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary. When he’s not preserving digital assets on film, he’s hard at work trying to keep his 1967 Mustang on the road. Steve and wife Cathy are the proud parents of Thomas and Emily.
bob dingman, chief operating officer
What does film-based archiving have to do with Bob Dingman’s previous 30-year career in oil and gas services? In fact, these two seemingly disparate callings have plenty in common: the management of talented people, the development of business opportunities and smart deployment of leading-edge technology. Bob has been a key part of the acmeworks senior management team since 2002. After earning a degree in Petroleum Engineering technology, he spent the next three decades with oil and gas service leader Schlumberger. He worked in 13 different countries, lived in nine and was active in engineering, operations management, sales and marketing and business management. He and wife Joan have three grown daughters, Jocelyn, Christina and Denise.
brenda nault, marketing communications manager
acmeworks and DIGINEG® have important stories to tell, and telling it powerfully is the mission of our marketing communications manager, Brenda Nault. She joined acmeworks early in 2007, following a 15-year career as designer and creative director at leading advertising agencies in Regina, Saskatoon and Calgary, and seven years in sales and marketing for a national distribution company. A Visual Communications graduate of Alberta College of Art, Brenda is currently developing and implementing a long-range plan to build and nurture the acmeworks and DIGINEG® brands. Away from the shop, she enjoys spending time with friends... whether on the golf course, trying out new restaurants, or sitting back savoring a glass of red wine. Depending on the season, Brenda is a devoted hockey-mom, football-mom and rugby-mom in support of sports-crazy teenage sons Josh and Will.
